If your business is short of cash cutting your marketing budget isn’t the answer

Marketing is the spigot that brings in all your sales and without it your revenue will reduce further adding to your problems

Some companies don’t see an immediate drop in sales when they cut the marketing budget which means they think they will be alright without it

This can be for a few reasons including the fact that they were wasting money in the first place

Or more importantly their business has a lag between marketing and the sales coming in

All this means if you cut the budget is that sales will reduce further down the road for the business

People need to be reminded about your brand constantly to stay front of mind and to continue to have their thoughts shaped about your brand positioning

So if you have to make cuts make sure it’s intentional and look at the areas where there is waste rather than just cutting the whole budget
