Focus on Marketing Not Memes

A so called marketing ‘expert’ online was giving small businesses advice about how to grow their impact online with two things.

They wanted them to create an online sales funnel and then to grow their social media by posting memes.

To them this was the pinnacle of small business marketing success.

There’s so much wrong with this.

First off it’s not a strategy just a couple of crap tactics.

Too often people wrap up a collection of tactics that have worked for others and call it at a strategy.

For strategy you need to have something created specifically for your business, that can only be applied in your situation.

Only once you’ve defined the target customers, the positioning plan and the goals can you then move on to selecting the tactics to use.
