What to focus on first when you are starting out:

Getting an idea for a new business is really easy.

The hard part is getting going and then keeping going with that idea.

One of the things that can cripple any new entrepreneur is a lack of profit.

Profit is the lifeblood of a business, with profit all decisions become easier.

You don’t have to worry about where rent or salaries are coming from and you don’t have to worry how you are going to feed yourself.

So, instead of worrying about making your business perfect when you are starting out think first about establishing a profit beachhead.

This is the process much like a military force invading, of establishing some sales that are profitable that you can drive your business forward from and then use that profit to build your business up.

Paying customers within that profit beachhead will be invaluable sources of information and feedback whilst also paying you at the same time.

If you do one thing, make sure it’s to build a profit beachhead.
