Marketers have an obsession with making the simple complex sometimes.
It might be due to insecurities within the profession or completely different reasons they seem to think that no one will take them seriously if they don’t overcomplicate what they do.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.” — Dr. Seuss
A lot of effective marketing can be very simple, if you want it to be.
All you have to do is to find the right strategy that fits your customers and then affect a change in those customers to the point where they make the purchase.
If you can do that well enough and deliver on your promises to the point where customers are willing to come back again and again you have a winning strategy.
If you back this up with good business operations that do all this profitably then you can’t lose.
One of the big things that small business owners forget that every time they complicate things they aren’t just adding time and energy into the process they are also costing themselves money.
With a simple marketing set up you can see how it is all working together and invest more in the areas that are producing revenue and cost those that don’t add to it directly or indirectly.
With a complex system you will have to expend a lot of energy to figure out these things about your business.
So if you can, fight to keep your marketing as simple as possible!
