Are you building for those who love what you do or those who kind of like it?

You can build for customers that love your product or service or you can settle and build products for customers that kind of like what you do.

With customers that love what you do, they will likely tell their friends who have similar interests and your market share will grow, no one who kind of likes something tells their friends about it.

With customers that love what you do they will want to succeed and will pay on time and in full without unnecessary complaints, customers who kind of like what you do will complain at any opportunity and begrudge paying (especially when prices have to go up in line with inflation!)

Customers that love what you do will want to make it better, giving constructive feedback to help you improve, customers who kind of like it often find fault in your products further fuelling their complaints.

Customers that love what you do will come back again and again, customers who kind of like it will be easily swayed to other product from competitors or other categories.

“Build something 100 people love, not something 1 million people kind of like.” — Brian Chesky
